A new vision is born
The production of wooden doors formally begins. From a simple artisan project, it transforms into an absolute production vocation that combines manual skill and a structured approach.

The industrial turning point
The GD Dorigo brand is born, now a small industry specialising in door construction: modern machinery and entrepreneurial vision anticipate a path of expansion and innovation that will be perfected during the 1980s.

Entry into trade fairs
The first participation in SAIE Bologna marks the beginning of a long season of visibility: GD Dorigo will be present at the fair for 27 consecutive years. It is the official debut of inlaid doors, an innovative proposal that combines production capacity and aesthetic sensitivity, confirming the desire to experiment and stand out immediately on the Italian scene.

National expansion
The GD Dorigo brand consolidates its presence throughout Italy, from Bolzano to Ragusa. The sales network grows rapidly, driven by a quality product and punctual service. The foundations are also laid for the first collaborations with foreign markets, which will open up new prospects for development.

A new headquarters, a new organisation
With the inauguration of the 11,000 m² production plant, GD Dorigo undergoes a decisive industrial change. The company grows in size, but the approach remains that of a family business: more efficient organisation, greater production capacity and new investments in technology to ensure continuity, quality and reliability.

REI doors
GD Dorigo introduces REI fire doors into its production in response to the growing needs of the hotel and public sectors. It is an important step, combining aesthetics and safety, consolidating the company’s reputation in the field of professional supplies and highly complex technical projects.

The first certifications
The company obtains its first official certifications (CISQ and CATAS), confirming its commitment to traceable, measurable quality that complies with the highest standards. From this moment on, every stage of production will be subject to rigorous controls, laying the foundations for further certifications in the years to come.

The Venus collection
The Venus collection is presented, reinterpreting classic style with elegance and sobriety. The pantographed and engraved doors respond to contemporary tastes while maintaining a memory of tradition. Also available in a hotel version, the line becomes a cross-cutting reference for both the residential and contract sectors.

Every detail under control
With the construction of a second 3,000 m² factory, GD Dorigo brings the production of door frames, architraves and skirting boards in-house. This strategic decision strengthens direct control over every component and improves the efficiency of the supply chain, from the choice of raw materials to the product finishing stage.

Doors Planet
The Doors Planet laminate line is launched, a collection designed to offer a technical alternative with a strong visual impact. With this new range, GD Dorigo reinterprets the language of contemporary design, combining durability, research into materials and a versatile and contemporary colour palette.

The third factory
The production area is further expanded with a third 11,000 m² facility. The company confirms its structural growth path by investing in more advanced lines and increasingly integrated logistics, capable of supporting large-scale orders and complex projects.

Iki Collection
GD Dorigo chooses Giugiaro Design as a partner for the design of a door collection that achieves a perfect synthesis between the combination of new materials, technological evolution, and a sense of form.
The Iki Collection by GD Dorigo is born, a project with revolutionary aesthetic content that concentrates the refinement and elegance of Eastern tradition into clear and intense marks of extraordinary formal rigor.

The Art collection is born
The door becomes an expressive surface thanks to the collaboration with Raimondo Sandri. The Art collection is born, where exclusive hand-made designs transform each element into a work of art to be experienced. It is a new vision of the product, capable of combining creativity, craftsmanship and design.

Eterea and Luce
Two collections are introduced that symbolise a new way of living: Eterea, the flush door that disappears into the wall, and Luce, an aluminium glazing system that focuses on transparency. Two solutions that consolidate GD Dorigo’s entry into the world of contemporary architecture, combining minimalist aesthetics and functionality.

The technical world
The Steel, Metal, Aluminium and Plastic lines are created, dedicated to the public, healthcare and professional sectors. GD Dorigo thus extends its know-how to the world of technical doors: resistant materials, safety regulations and a design that never compromises on elegance.

Strategic mergers
DOOR2000 officially joins the GD Dorigo family. The acquisition marks the union of two manufacturing identities, strengthening the range on offer and consolidating expertise, distribution networks and industrial capacity, with a view to an increasingly integrated future.

A new expansion in production
The Falzè plant is expanded by an additional 9,000 square metres, bringing the total covered area to over 35,000 square metres. The expansion improves efficiency, introduces new automated production lines and prepares the company to handle higher volumes without sacrificing quality.

Accademia & ADI Design Index
The Accademia collection is presented, the result of a project with the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona. The Warp, Galassie and Made in Italy lines explore new shapes and visual solutions capable of transforming the door into a designer element. Accademia is selected by ADI Design Index and is the protagonist of a national campaign on La7.

Compasso d’Oro selection + 50 years
GD Dorigo participates in the ADI Compasso d’Oro selection and celebrates 50 years of history. A milestone celebrated with pride: from artisan workshop to industrial reality, the company continues to grow while keeping its family heart and passion for design intact.

One family, one brand
GD Dorigo becomes a single, unified brand, definitively integrating the collections previously produced under the DOOR2000 brand. A new identity, firmly rooted in its original values and capable of looking ahead, still guided by the same family that founded it and helped it evolve.
